The 24th James Bond adventure, Spectre, has been awarded a Guinness World Records title for the Largest Film Stunt Explosion, announced in Beijing, China where the film opens this week.
Producer Barbara Broccoli accepted the record certificate on behalf of the official title holder, Academy Award winner Chris Corbould – Special Effects and Miniature Effects Supervisor on Spectre, alongside stars Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux.
The explosion in question took place on June 29th 2015 at Erfoud in Morocco and used 8,418 litres of fuel and 33kg of explosives.
The scene is towards the end of the film and is the demolition of a large secluded compound which Craig and Seydoux have recently escaped.
